Marta Caffarelli and Viola Naj Oleari have been the heart and soul of the Atlier VM since 1988. The two creative have defined it as an alchemical workshop. Its storefront, looking out on Via Correnti, is filled with rings, bracelets, and charms that become metaphors for the sentimental value that memories, promises, and connections can hold… Their creations are minimal, thin symbols, almost like pencil strokes, drawn on hands, wrists and around one’s neck; they are delicately cast, and at times, almost imperceptible. More than ornaments, they are objects of affection: natural silhouettes, designed with grace. Hearts, stars and animal figures turn the jewelry into metaphors of sentiments. Slender and symbolic, they represent starry skies, bestiaries, hearts, kisses; tiny domestic shelters that transform physical ornamentation into fairy tales.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
