Paula Cademartori’s 2017 Spring/Summer collection for Kartell is a mix of the company’s expert skill and the young, Brazilian fashion designer, who after having graduated from the Istituto Marangoni, started her own line of accessories in Milan. The “Kartell à la mode” division was created by Lorenza Luti in 2008, and season after season, has grown, honing its precise skill of turning humble plastic into haute couture. The 2017 Summer collection includes brightly coloured bags and sandals, inspired by Rio de Janiero’s botanical gardens. Plays on weaving in tropical shades and florals evoke the summer before it has even begun. The Massimo Bonini showroom will be selling the collection starting in January, 2017, bringing a touch of the Caribbean to the upcoming summer.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
