Maurizio Pecoraro runway

Maurizio Pecoraro’s 2017 spring/summer runway show converges various themes with talent and courage. Animal prints, including giraffe, go hand in hand with floral patterns, and white lace is paired with snake and insect motifs. Mesh mixes with embroidery, leather has been punched with botanical forms, white lace with technical netting and slick dresses are adorned with jungle designs.

Maurizio enjoyed finding the outliers of natural references, from marine life to vibrant African nature, while combining traditional and technical materials. Mesh tunics are printed with orchids, giraffes and monkeys. The blaze of patterns is contained by knowing sartorial construction, and the garment’s silhouettes are minimal, fluid, lending themselves to a wealth of improbable contaminations.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
