The creative force behind the brand Antonini, Sergio Antonini (born in Milan and discovered by Milano 1919, belonging to the Borromeo family), has created the capsule collection Mosaic, featuring unique pieces covered in diamonds and sapphires. Beyond the material’s worth is the originality of the design, which feature slivers of the precious stones strewn about like falling stars against the sky. The profiles are almost primitive in their intentional irregularity, made of burnished gold that highlights the stone’s brilliance, and seem to be shaped like natural elements like autumn leaves, mushroom caps, and muddy clearings. The expertise employed in the design is marked by handmade forms that, in their imperfection, are in counterpoint to the precise cut of the stones.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
