The collection “Ferro” is made, however, of furnishings inspired by the traditional brazier’s grid. Vittorio Venezia has put his own design forward towards the rediscovery of traditional forms and craftsmanship, creating a contemporary collection full of reminiscences and steeped in popular flavours.

Calderai Workshops (OfficineCalderai) is the new project by Vittorio Venezia, which takes its name from the famous street of Palermo, where experienced craftsmen still produce traditional metal tools, presented at the Salone Satellite in Milan. It consists of two collections “4decimi” and “Ferro”. “4decimi” includes twelve suspended ceiling lights, inspired by the traditional Sicilian home, hand-forged by eighty-six year old tinsmith Nino Ciminna in the oldest workshop in via Calderai.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
