An abandoned ex-garage has been transformed into Upcycle, a bike café inspired by Northern European examples, and according to a favourite Milanese term-of-the-moment, it is very “hipster”. Large tables welcome diners, readers or even workers, there is a bar with delicacies abound, and several comfy areas to kick back and relax. The owners wanted to create a space where people could meet and socialize, rather than a bar where consumption was obligatory in order to sit and stay. Upcycle also organizes concerts, special events, cultural presentations and of course, cycling groups! Upcycle is not like other bars: it is a gathering place, dedicated not only to cyclers, but anyone who lives sustainably. Those who drive cars or scooters are welcome as well, as there is parking behind the space and a ramp that leads up to the relaxing, and relaxed, locale, where spending time is pure pleasure.

Foto S’Notes - www.s-notes.net

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
