Maurizio Pecoraro’s 2017 spring/summer runway show converges various themes with talent and courage. Animal prints, including giraffe, go hand in hand with floral patterns, and white lace is paired with snake and insect motifs. Mesh mixes with embroidery, leather has been punched with botanical forms, white lace with technical netting and slick dresses are adorned with jungle designs. Maurizio enjoyed finding the outliers of natural references, from marine life to vibrant African nature, while combining traditional and technical materials. Mesh tunics are printed with orchids, giraffes and monkeys. The blaze of patterns is contained by knowing sartorial construction, and the garment’s silhouettes are minimal, fluid, lending themselves to a wealth of improbable contaminations.
