On 26 June 2015 Alberto Alessi and Andrea Illy officially presented Pulcina, the new mocha, designed by Michele De Lucchi.
The soul of the coffee maker, even formally, is designed to achieve the optimal extraction of coffee, with no bitter or burnt aftertaste.

La Caffettiera espresso “Pulcina”, disegnata da Michele De Lucchi, è l’esito di una lunga collaborazione per una “moka del 2000” iniziata quindici anni fa da Alessi e Illycaffè

The soul is enclosed in a pleated shape; it consists of two rounded volumes that merge into a sinuous line. The spout, which recalls the beak of a chick, hence the name, was designed in such a way that it pours perfectly without dripping. Made of aluminium, an excellent heat conductor, Pulcina, with its pleated dress, renews the image of the classic mocha, maintaining unaltered its inimitable performance.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
