The refined bakery Tartela is only a short distance from Barcelona’s Plaça d’Espanya. Since 1992, the company has offered desserts, bite-sized treats, and even wedding catering service. The owners recently contacted Eva Cheung’s ECM Interiorismo studio to give their retail space a welcoming, familiar flair with a traditional twist. They played with the front window’s size, drawing in clients with a luminous interior perfect for housing all of their sweet delights, which are perfect for any sweet tooth. Tartela’s space is simply decorated, made unique through the use of decorative details. The display case is covered in traditional, restored azulejo ceramics in varied blue and white patterns. The pillars have been covered in wallpaper by Wall&Deco, that closely imitates Spanish tiling. Not everything is what it seems, and this unusual mix is surprising!
